Austrian Boys & Girls
From June 19 to 21, the highlight of the season took place at Colony Club Gutenhof with the Austrian Boys & Girls (Austrian Youth State Championships).
10 players from Schönborn Castle Golf Club took part. Of those who made the cut after 2 days, they were all at the forefront.
We were able to record 2 state champion titles, 2 vice state champion titles and a 3rd and 4th place each in the end.
With the U12 girls was Samira Petek Once again in a class of its own. With rounds of +7, +3 and +12, she confidently won the state championship title with 14 strokes ahead of the next rival.
In the U12 boys category, as is so often the case, there was a head-to-head race over 3 days between Matteo Kaipel and Benjamin Al-Khaffaf. With rounds of +9, +9 and +8, Matteo was finally crowned state champion by 2 strokes ahead of Benjamin (+14, +7, +8), who thus secured the double victory for Schönborn as vice state champion. Felix Neffe With a 4th place, another great result was achieved.
It couldn't be more exciting than with the U16 boys. Stephan Csöngei (Par, +2, -2) was intercepted as the leader on the last 4 holes by his closest pursuer with 4 birdies in series and then had to jump off. Unfortunately, luck wasn't on his side here. His opponent was able to make a birdie from approx. 8 meters, Stephan played the par and thus became vice state champion.
In the U21 girls, his sister got herself Alessandra Csöngei The bronze medal with rounds of +2, +3 and +13.
Austrian Juniors Golf Tour
Two weeks before that, the AJGT stopped at GC Klagenfurt-Seltenheim with the 5th event of the season. There were 5 squad players from GC Schloss Schönborn this time.
Samira Petek won the U12 girls' classification here with rounds of +13 and +6 with an equal advantage of 22 strokes.
It was already much closer with the U12 boys. After a long injury break, Matteo Kaipel (+4, +4) only on the last hole with a one-shot advantage in an AJGT. Benjamin Al-Khaffaf (+5, +9), who won 2 AJGTs this year, finished third.
Schoenborn Juniors Tour
On July 6, our Juniors Tour took place again, in which 13 juniors took part in the 9-hole tournament.
The net score won Anton Schaflechner (24 net points) before Laurenz Mayer (23) and Kieran Lennon (21).
Gross was Theo Sas Unbeatable this time with 15 gross points.
There were 5 kids in the 3-hole tournament. Here won Constantin Mayer (19 strokes) just ahead Christoph Wienerroither (20). 3rd place was shared Frederik Lottenbach, Arwin & Tristan Frey (24).
Student Cup
Of course, all sorts of student cups are heavily frequented by our young players during the holidays, and very successfully.
By the way, one over 18 holes will take place next Tuesday, July 30, on the inner square at GC Schloss Schönborn. We hope to see a lot of participation from you!
